•The advantages of using the software:

I have found that 'Final Cut' is much more complex compared to 'I-Movie'.The advantages of using this piece of software is that there are so many tools to choose from and special features such as the amount of filters you can add a clip with all the various different colours available. Also it is possible to have more than one clip runnig on sceen at one time, infact you are able to have ninty nine clips on screen at once.This piece of software also gives us the ability to show off our real potential skills which some of them we could'nt achieve in I-Movie and this way we are using software which is used for large film productions all over the world so it makes us as producers feel more important and confident about the quality edting techniques we are able to use.

•The disadvantages of using the software:

The disadvantges to using this piece of software is that it is very hard to get used to because when you have come from a much more less scaled movie maker (I-Movie), it is hard to adapt to the increase in information and different tools etc that are provided. Also i think the layoutof it on screen is hard to understand and follow as there are different clips for differnt scenes in different player boxes, however it is confusing at times.

•My Stenghts and Weeknesses of using the software:

My stenghts of using this piece of software are that i am able to create a simple quality production as i find it easy to add audio and visual effects so that the narrative makes sense. My weeknesses are that i find it hard to keep all the clips in the correct timing sequence because when th timing is out of place non of it makes sense at all.

These tutorials take you through every vital detail from starting on how the import your clips to developing your editing skills and publishing your production into the correct format. I have found that these have helped me so much and i don't think that i would be as good and have the correct knowledge to understand all the new aspects to this type of editing piece of software.



•I have also used a piece of software which i used last year which is called I-Movie however i only used this when importing the clips from the camera.

•The advantages of using the software:

The advantages of using this piece of software is that it is very simple to use and navigate you way around. Also the quality of the clips when they are compressed is of a high quality also there are transitions and effects to choose from, but mainly it is very easy to import the clips onto and arrange them in an orderly mannner and situation.

•The disadvantages of using the software:

However on the other hand the disadvantages of this piece of software is that it is too simple as the transitions and effects are very basic and some look unreal and spoil the editting altogather. Also there are not enough tools to be creative unlike Final Cut where you can.



•I have also been using another piece of software called Photoshop Elements, however it is not used for editing it has been useful for me wwhen i have designed my teaser poster etc.

•The advantages of using the software:

The advantages of using this piece of software is that there are so many tools to choose from as you can make your image look and change to anything you wish. I have found that the effects have made a big impact on my poster as they can make things look so much more proffesional. Also this programme allows you to save it as a j.peg which is very good when you want to add pictures to your blog etc. And lastyly i think it is quite simple to use and get to grips with.



•The disadvantages of using the software:

On the other hand the disadvantages of using this piece of software is that the images are bitmaps and it is quite hard to edit them in other programmes. Sometimes layers are also deselected which can make your work variate and make everything in the wrong order.



•I have also used Garage Band to construct some of the music soundtrack towards the end of my fil.

•The advantages of using the software:

The advantages of using this software is that you are able to add a variety of sounds and combine them to your own ability and style. You are also able to fiddle around with the levels to increase or decrease the volume etc, but mainly it is very easy to follow and use as you can simply save what you have done as an mp3 format which can then be easily imported into the editing piece of software.

•The disadvantages of using the software:

The disadvantages of using this piece of software is that you are only given sounds so you have to be able to have a creative mind to choose the correct instruments for the correct type of genre of your main product. Also i have found that you could do wiith more sound effects such as every day noises as these are vital sounds used in short films, howvever overall it was quite easy to use.



•I have also used Live Type to construct my title at the begining of my film.

•The advantages of using the software:

The advantages of using this piece of software is that you can be very creative as there are lots of different types of fonts and effects to choose from. Alos you are able to use your titles by importing them into the editing software where it will convert itself into a clip itself so its very simple to use and navigate your self around.

•The disadvantages of using the software:

The disadvantages of using this software is that you cant add video transistion on it when you import it into the editting piece of software. This is the only diadvantage as it is a very creative source.
